COMMUNITY LIVING CAMP

As a part of B. Ed curriculum, a 5day
residential camp were conducted from April 10 to 14 in college. It was named as
'Akam' which emphasizes inclusion. All students were Categorised into 5
groups such as kazhcha, sparsha, gandha, rasa, dhandha. I included in the group Rasa. And there were five committees - program committee, beautification
committee, food committee, stage committee and finance Committee for different
duties.I contributed as a team member of food committe. Programs on each day were held based on the subthemes of eekam -
soyojana, samsarga, samatha, vimochitha and oruma.
The registration started on by 9'o clock. College
principal Roy sir hoisted the flag. The inaugural session started with
prayer. Camp Convenor Vineeth sir(Asst.Professor physical science) delivered the welcome speech, Roy
sir delivered the presidential address. Kottarakkara municipality chairman S.
R. Ramesh inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp. Theme presentation
were held by Akshay John. Felicitations were delivered by ward counselor Jaisy
John, Assistant professor Riju john and college union secretary Jithin A R.
Camp organizer Assistant professor. Sheeja Chacko ma'am delivered the vote of
thanks.
At
11.45 a.m., Artist,Social worker and Transgender Activist Ms.Sreemayi. S. L shared the experience and
difficulties that she had to face in her life. After lunch break, Sri. Bharanikavu Radhakrishnan held the class by pulled out our acting skills,got an opportunity to perform in front of our peers. The session ended up at 4.30pm.
DAY 2
On the second day, the session were started at 9.30 am. The programs on this day was based on the subtheme samsarga. The session thudithallam was held Sree. Punnapara Jothikumar. He pointed out the significance of music and artistic sense in teaching learning process. After the lunch break, Sree. Brahmanayakam Mahadevan lead the session ninav. This session includes several interactive and motivation classes. The class was very interesting and live. It was ended at 6pm.
On
the third day, we reached the college with our luggage for two days stay.
The session started at 9.30 am based on the subtheme samatha. It started
with an entertaining session with games. After that, at 11.30 mentalist
Sri. Akshay Ovens lead the session manam thodum mayajalam. He performed mind
blowing magic and some Mentalistic performance. After the lunch break,
manaveeyam session were started on 2pm for Kudumbasree members. It includes
medical camp and awareness program for kudumbasree members. We held some
performance based on the socially relevant issues in society. At 5pm, there was
a small refreshment including kappa and kappi. At 7pm, there was a cultural
program including nostalgia and D. J. We all performed some song version before
the year 2000. It was an awesome performance. The session were ended at
10.30pm.
DAY 4
On
the fourth day, the programs were based on the subtheme vimochitha. At
7am, Rev. Dr. Jacob John lead the session yoga & meditation. It refreshed
the mind and body. He pointed out the significance of yoga in our daily life.
After the breakfast, the soomba dance were held by Harimol in Hari lifestyle
studio at kollam. At 11.45, dhe ruchi session were started for preparing
different dishes without using fire and stove. We prepared almost 20 dishes. I contributed to make chat dishes After lunch break, campus news were conducted by including
the funny moments and incidents that occurred in camp days. At 7pm, nadanpattu
session were conducted by Chennerkara Sivarajan and his family. After the
dinner, we went to sleep.
DAY 5
It was the last day of our camp. The session were
started with a yoga class by prof. Kavya P Kumar at 6.30am.This day was based
on the subtheme oruma. After the breakfast, the formal session were started
with prayer. College principal Roy G delivered the welcome speech. Local
manager Fr. M. Jacob led the presidential address. State government television
award winner, Rtd. Headmaster Neelesharam Sadhasivan inaugurated the session.
Kottarakkara municipality development standing Committee chairman Sree. Faisal
Basheer held the keynote address. After that, camp report was presented by camp
leader Athira H. Husna Sakir Husain delivered the camp reflection based on
these five days. Felicitations were delivered by vice principal
PrinceammaPrinceamma. G. George, Assistant professor Dr. Leena Vahid and
student representative Govind H. After that, there was a distribution of prize
and certificates. College union chairman Jishnu vijay delivered the vote of
thanks. The day ended with National Anthem at 5pm.
